One of its earliest alliances was built with American Pacific Corporation (and its division, American Azide) in 1995, when it commissioned a new 2500 tons per year sodium azide plant, the largest of its kind in the world.  Fine Chemicals Inc. has been providing technical and marketing assistance to American Pacific Corporation and was granted an exclusive representation agreement to market sodium azide worldwide.  Over time the American Pacific Corporation and Fine Chemicals Inc. team has become a leading supplier of sodium azide to the Automotive Industry for safety air bags.
